As a fresh face to CPG, I’ve been encapsulated in a world I am so close to, yet knew so little of. CPG, consumer packaged goods, may not resonate the same for all of us, but we can’t say we haven’t been exposed to it. Anytime you make a purchase at a store? Yup, that’s CPG.
After eight months of working closely with suppliers, something I’ve learned about the community of manufacturers and suppliers is that they are hard-working and amazing. Those are the simple hard facts, and they have completely stolen my heart. They stand by their products, they are making products that ease or help a consumer’s lifestyle, and of course, they strive to be the best product in the market.
“I can’t help but notice and wonder and feel how each product has made their way into each of the stores I shop at.”Now, as I walk down the aisles of boutique stores on Valencia Street in the Mission District of San Francisco, and pass by endless amounts of unique products, two questions often go through my head: How did they make their way into these small boutique stores? How many other stores carry this unique product?
Imagine. Imagine there is one product that can only be found at that one store in that one city. This is why I find the community of suppliers and manufacturers so intriguing–they are willing to go through all the nooks and crannies to just to get their products out there to you and me, even if it’s only in a single location. After discovering the process it takes to become part of a shelf space in a retail store, that dedication is all I can think about.
As I go about my day to day life, I can’t help but notice and wonder and feel how each product has made their way into each of the stores I shop at. From Whole Foods to boutique stores, no product on the shelves has had an easy road to market. So next time you’re picking up a new or old favorite product off the shelves, thank the amazing supplier who has worked hard to create that product and have it placed in your favorite store.
Thank you, Winnie! I feel the same way when I walk down store aisles and appreciate the work it took to get products on the shelf. We produce gluten free pasta and gluten free has come along way since we started in 1982. Happy shopping!
Hi Sylvia! Thanks for the comment, glad to know you feel the same way! I think your products are amazing and this retailer in particular might be interested in your products! https://www.rangeme.com/whole-foods-landing
